On Saturday, 21st. August 2009, my coarse canoeing friend (of course the canoeing is coarse) JACKSON placed his long-time favourite hat upon a boulder or rock near the summit of the footpath into The Hidden Valley of Glencoe. The hat is illustrated (Stac Pollaidh rudely interrupted). Should you have picked it up, we offer postage (to the bookshop address) plus a £10 book-token for its return - maybe more if you can spin a good yarn about having to drive from Landsend (or fly from New Zealand) to search for it. Night was falling and we had to be in Ayr by midnight, so we could not return to pick it up. At one time, it appeared that night might descend faster than some of us, so more than hat rescue might have been needed. But that is another (and disputed) story!
