6304 C.N. Wright's Directory of the Parishes, Townships, and Hamlets Twelve Miles Round Nottingham Market Place - Wright, C.N.
Price : £30.00 Publisher : Nottingham: C.N.Wright Published : 1888 Binding : Hard Condition : Good
A robust volume, being the separately bound book covering just the parishes mentioned in the title, being pages 457 to 658 of the encompassing work which also includes the "Municipal and Parliamentary Borough" of Nottingham. Asdverts begin on page 643 and there are also pages nubbered to xvi at the outsel, being more adverts and some lists of gentry etc, - however, page ii appears to be the pastedown; the rear pastedown is also an advert page. I don not think a leaf is missing at the beginning, but rather that the numbering is eccentric. It can be seen, however that a folding map has been torn out opposite page xvi. Bound in navy blue cloth with blind embossing, the publisher's gilt trade mark on the front cover and "Nottingam District Directory" in gilt onb the spine. Somewhat darkened front cover, with a few marks. Small tear from margin of the first and second leaves with some advertising text lost. Priced to take account of faults; a mine of information with fascinating adverts, some pictorial. Date not checked, but looks about right,
