Price : £8.00
Publisher : London: Wales Publishing
Published : 1943
Edition : 5th or later Edition
Binding : Soft

pp70 + p2 publisher's announcements. A soft cover, pocket sized guide to sexual relations, placing some stress on women's right to pleasure, but far more on the need to avoid anyone carrying venereal diseases. Syphilis at this date was still close to uncurable. Has some interesting reassurances, reflecting considerably advanced attitudes for the time, for instance, suggesting tampons for unmarried as well as married women. First published in February 1941, this is the July 1943 "eighth edition" (ie reprinting).

Ephemera: Lady Manners School Bakewell Derbyshire: Jean McWilliam Retirement Album Summer 1973 (autographs and photographs) - [None]
Price : £45.00
Edition : 1st Edition
Binding : Hard
Condition : Very Good
A tan cloth-bound album of autographs of staff, pupils and old pupils (Old Mannerians) from contemporaries of 1973, through pages dedicated to OMs from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Volume and pages have been labelled in a calligraphic hand. This is then followed by a series of b/w tipped-in photographs of the scholars of Lady Manners School Bakewell Derbyshire in the quotidienne life of their alma mater. The signatures of old boys and girls were collected on adhesive labels and pasted on their appropriate pages - this adhesion has been lost over time and some of the labels are loose.
