Tucked in is a programme of Maude's appearance at Balmoral Castle (presumably before Their Majesties Edward and Alexandra)in "The Headmaster". This memoir was not written posthumously but to introduce him to an American audience. Maude has his own London theatre, The Playhouse, dedicated to comedy. But as Charing Cross station once fell on top of his home one wonders how he kept up his smile.
